EarthTrac™ SS1 Soil Reinforcing
The EarthTrac™ SS1 soil reinforcing is hot rolled and conforms to ASTM A572 Grade 50 or ASTM A36. The soil reinforcing consists of a 2” wide steel strip with raised transverse major and minor ribs that are formed on the top and bottom surfaces. The transverse ribs are positioned perpendicular to the length of the steel strip. The major rib is spaced 6” on center. Between the major ribs are three minor ribs that are spaced at 1-½” on center. The combination of the major and minor ribs creates a bi-planar soil reinforcing element with superior pullout resistance. The configuration and spacing of the major and minor transverse ribs increase the resistance to pullout and higher friction factors (F*) of similar soil reinforcing systems. The friction factors have been verified in laboratory small scale testing. The lead end of the EarthTrac™ has a centralized 9/16” hole punched into it.
EarthTrac™ SS3 Soil Reinforcing
The EarthTrac™ SS3 soil reinforcing is cold-formed and conforms to ASTM A1011 with a minimum Grade 50. The EarthTrac™ SS3 soil reinforcing consists of a 2” wide steel strip with raised transverse ribs formed on the top and bottom surfaces. The transverse ribs are positioned perpendicular to the length of the steel strip. The rib has a unique peak and a valley. The ribs create a bi-planar soil reinforcing element with superior pullout resistance. The configuration and spacing of the upper and lower rib increase pullout resistance. The unique shape and layout optimize the friction factors (F*) compared to other discrete strip soil reinforcing systems. Laboratory testing has been used to determine the friction factors. The lead end of the EarthTrac™ has a centralized 9/16” hole punched into it.
